Monica was in the Lutzoni lab during the Fall of 2004 as a Ph.D. student AFTOL visitor for training in molecular lab techniques and phylogenetic methods. Her Ph.D. thesis is a systematic study of the lichen-forming Collemataceae. Monica is from Colombia, but conducting her Ph.D. research in Spain.
