During her final year of graduate study at the University of Gdansk, Jolanta Miadlikowska initiated the following two projects in collaboration with François Lutzoni.

Project 1: Revision of the genus Peltigera based on evidence from morphology, secondary compounds, and DNA sequences.

Project 2: Tri-membered symbiotic associations: A key innovation for the radiation of the Peltigerales (lichen-forming Ascomycota).
