News Release : May 2011 - Congratulations and farewell, Dr. Brendan P. Hodkinson!

The Lutzoni lab congratulates Dr. Brendan P. Hodkinson for completing his graduate work on the communities of non-photoautotrophic bacteria associated with lichens. His graduate research broke new ground in terms of using high-throughput pyrosequencing and cutting-edge bioinformatics to examine the phylogenetic diversity and the metabolic complexity of the lichen microbiome. He is looking forward to conducting postdoctoral research on the systematics of lichen-forming fungi at the New York Botanical Garden. We send our best wishes as he moves on to the next stage!
